Well, I am trying once more to start back with blogging. It is so hard to make myself do this!
Homeschool update: We have 5 weeks after this week left of Kindergarten! Olivia is excited to have a summer break. (I think I have worn her out! hehe) She has learned SO much. It is hard to believe we have done almost the entire year. We just finished reading The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Soon I have to choose curriculum for next year. Madison says she wants to begin Kindergarten in August when Olivia starts 1st grade. I know it will be a challenge with 2...but I know we can get through it together. I am so grateful that I am able to homeschool my girls and have David's help and support. I am truly blessed.

Homeschool

We are using the Sonlight Curriculum. It is going very well so far. We are on our 6th week. We have Bible, History, Reading, Math, Phonics/Spelling, Handwriting, and Science. We have already finished 2 chapter books and are reading the 3rd. We have read The Boxcar Children Book 1, The Apple and the Arrow, and are currently reading My Father's Dragon. Of course I read the books and the girls listen. They seem to be enjoying it.
So far Olivia's favorite subject is Math. She asks alot of mornings if I will let her do math first. She is already adding numbers like 2+4=6.
Yesterday she read her first 5 words. At, Bat, Fat, Rat, Mat. We have learned letters F, B, M, R, T, and A. The curriculum introduced them in that order and so we are already reading short words formed from those letters. She picked it up fairly easy. I was glad! :)
The website is http://www.sonlight.com/. We are using the Kindergarten curriculum.
Trying to get this blog going again....and homeschooling.
Well, I fell off the blog wagon for some reason. But I am trying to get back on :) I have been reading a few blogs of homeschoolers and thought it might be good (since there are so many people that think my children are not learning a thing) to keep an update on here about what Olivia (and the other 2 at times) are learning. So here goes...........

It's October!

Yes, I am alive! :) Those are just some recent pictures of the girls since I haven't posted any in a while.
The girls have changed so much...especially Rylie. She is walking everywhere now. She started walking at about 11 1/2 months. And she turned 1 on Sept. 29th! Madison will be 3 on the 12th of this month. We have to keep the scissors hidden from Madison because she let Olivia cut her hair once and she cut it once, so it's really bad gapped up on one side and in the back. I didn't want to have it cut as short as I would have had to in order to get it to look right, so I'm just letting it grow back out the way it is. You can see in one of the pictures above that it's short on one side.
We went the other day and had their pictures made. It was an experience! It was hard with 2 to get them to smile but now it's even harder with 3 to get them to all smile and stay in the same position to get the picture. They turned out pretty good though.
Oh and Rylie drank motor oil the other day. It really scared me because we were just walking around outside and I turned around and she had it up to her mouth. I didn't know for sure how much she drank or that she had even drank any, but I could smell it in her mouth. I knew she couldn't have drank much because she didn't even spill any on her shirt, and she always spills whatever she's drinking on her shirt if she gets much of it. I called the poison control center and they said just watch her...so I did and she was fine. It was a scary evening though! And no we don't just leave motor oil around in the yard. David was working on Madison's bicycle at the time and had it there by him. I never thought she would pick it up and drink it...I should have known though!

Air Show

We went to the airshow in Huntsville, AL the weekend before the 4th. It was alot of fun and we saw the Blue Angels fly. Thanks Sherri and Randall! :) I have alot of good pictures but this blogger is being really contrary so this is the only one it would upload! This is Olivia and her Uncle Randall. In the picture they look really tall for some reason. I guess because I was sitting on the ground when I took it!

Cookout with Friends
Every year (I think this is the 3rd year) some of my friends and I get our families together and have a cookout. The past 2 years Misty and Heath have been gracious enough to let us have it in their nice, big house! :) Thanks Misty and Heath!! Here are a few of the pictures that I took. We didn't get a group picture this year guys, that means we'll have to get together again sometime in the near future and take one!!
Olivia "playing" guitar hero...she thought she was anyway.
McKade and Rylie...I think they're fighting over the truck.
Madison (she knows she's not supposed to be standing on Misty's sofa)
Sarah and Elisabeth
Erick, Laura, and Elisabeth

Kayla (expecting Maddox Lee in September!)

Wow, look at all the kids! When we first started having yearly cookouts I was the only one with kids, now the others are catching up!

Will (Sarah and Brian's little boy), Olivia, and Rylie. Will is 3 weeks older than Rylie.

Our week..
The past few weeks have been extremely busy for some reason although I can't think of one single important thing that we have done. Well, I guess all things are important if you really think about it. David has 2 weeks of this semester of school left. 1 paper, 1 assignment, and 2 tests...I believe...I am counting down the days as he is a little on edge from all the work. :) My work has been very slow. I don't think I have done an exam in a month now. I am hoping the economy will improve soon so that more exams will come up.
Olivia and Madison had an unknown illness the latter part of this week. They had fever for 2 days. I almost took them to the doctor on Friday but called the nurseline and they said wait it out, so that's what we did and it went away on its own. They are coughing some today though so I'm not so sure we're over it all.
David's graduation from Magnolia Bible College is May 17. For that we are very excited.

Updates!
It's been so long since I've written in this blog!
David is speeding right along at Freed Hardeman. His mid-term week was this week...so not too much longer and he will be done with this semester. His graduation is May 17th from Magnolia. We're excited about that!
Olivia is 3 3/4 years old...she does really well for her age...if she can be still long enough! :) She can write her first name by herself now. She can also write the letter A upper and lowercase. We're working on the B's. She knows almost all of the New Testament books of the Bible. She can say her ABC's and count to 14.
Madison is almost 2 1/2 and is finally rid of her paci. She threw it to the goats Monday morning. She's been asking us every day if we can go to Wal-Mart and buy her some new pacis. She's doing well without it though. David is kinda sad because he doesn't want her to grow up enough to be without it. It's really for the best though! Madison can count to 11 or 12...she knows alot of her New Testament books. She can also say her ABC's. She and Olivia both love to sing and know many of the youth songs from church.
Rylie is 5 months. She has learned to roll over. As soon as I put her on her stomach usually right over she goes. She can push up with her arms then and look around for a while until she gets tired. She sat up for a few seconds by herself today. She loves several kinds of baby food...sweet potatoes, carrots, applesauce, and squash. She's not too crazy about the cereal but will eat it.
I guess we're staying pretty busy. We are getting ready for warm weather!
This is Rylie pushing up with her arms after rolling over...gotta love those big blue eyes! :)
